He had a green thumb. After the war he had a beautiful rose garden at the back of the house. It was four-tiered, each tier planted with the same color american roses. All together, four tiers of four different colors exuded the most beautiful picture one can see. American roses are big, not same as local roses we see today. His rock garden was made of native white rocks (IGANG in Ilonggo). When i had my own house in 1976, i replicated his rose garden in my front yard . Instead of Igang, i used hallow-blocks. Sad to say, i did not succeed in my efforts. IBA SI DINOY, HE HAD HIS OWN MAGIC!
